Cybersecurity Policy Development for Community Organizations
In an era where online threats are increasingly targeting small nonprofits, it is crucial for community-focused organizations to bolster their cybersecurity measures. This project aims to develop comprehensive cybersecurity policies and safety procedures tailored for such organizations. The goal is to protect sensitive data and ensure the organization's digital and human assets are safe. Learners will research best practices in cybersecurity and strategies to avoid being targeted in the first place for small nonprofits, assess the current digital vulnerabilities of our organization, and design implementable safety protocols. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their classroom knowledge of cybersecurity principles in a real-world context, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding digital environments. The project will focus on creating a robust framework that can be easily adopted by similar organizations facing heightened online threats.

Collaborative Knowledge Base Development for ICRC/CCBI
The ICRC/CCBI is aiming to develop an internal wiki or collaborative knowledge base to enhance knowledge-sharing and streamline onboarding processes. As a nonprofit operating within the social economy, ICRC/CCBI collaborates with a diverse group of stakeholders, including collaborators, contractors, staff, volunteers, members, and partners. The current challenge lies in effectively managing and disseminating information across these varied groups to ensure consistent and efficient communication. The goal of this project is to create a centralized, user-friendly platform that will facilitate easy access to organizational knowledge, thereby improving collaboration and operational efficiency. This project will allow learners to apply their skills in information architecture, content management, and user experience design, ensuring the knowledge base is intuitive and accessible to all users.

Client Engagement Data Model Development
The ICRC/CCBI is seeking to strengthen its internal decision-making and strategic planning by developing a comprehensive, community-informed data model. The goal of this project is to analyze client and service usage patterns to improve how the organization tracks engagement, identifies trends, and allocates resources after a business development realignment post-Trump elections. Learners will work with real organizational data to design a structured, efficient, and scalable data model that reflects the complexity of CCBI’s service delivery. This project offers students a valuable opportunity to apply data analysis and modeling techniques in a nonprofit social economy context, contributing directly to more equitable, evidence-based programming.

Grant Writing

Deliverables: Identify and evaluate at least three potential grant opportunities aligned with CCBI’s mission. Draft and refine one or more grant applications. Create a template for future grant applications to streamline the process.

Training Module Development
About the Project CCBI is launching a Solidarity Clinic in spring 2026 to provide free tax returns and financial, fiscal, consumer, and digital literacy support to underserved 2SLGBTQ+ communities, particularly those facing economic disparities, immigration barriers, and systemic exclusion. We need to train our growing team, volunteers, and collaborators with intersectional, trauma-informed, and community-grounded approaches. This internship supports the development of an original training curriculum that addresses real gaps in existing resources. This will not be a copy-paste job - many of these trainings don’t yet exist in a way that aligns with our values such including economic and trauma informed content so you'll help build something new and necessary!

Market Research
Welcome to CCBI! We are looking for students interested in market research and social impact analysis to explore changing perceptions of 2SLGBTQ+ initiatives. Main Goal: The goal of this project is to assess how public perception and market dynamics are evolving regarding 2SLGBTQ+ community-led businesses and organizations. This research will help CCBI adapt its positioning and outreach strategies. Deliverables: Conduct a review and analyze recent market trends. Design and distribute surveys or conduct interviews with key stakeholders. Compile findings into a strategic report with actionable insights.

Online Training Course Design
Our organization provides regular training and financial literacy to our network, clients and program participants. To make training more convenient, we hope to transform our training programs into online courses. We would like to work with students to determine what features and materials would be useful in an online training course. Based on this information, students can then recommend the platform that would be most suitable. Tasks include: Gathering relevant course design and content information from interviews / surveys with key stakeholders. Researching options for our online training platform. Assessing existing online training platforms and recommending the best platform for our course. Reviewing our existing training material and making recommendations. Assisting in designing the course and revising training material.

Sales Forecasting Analysis

In this project, students will analyze organizational assets including personnel, strategic records, pricing, and promotion. Using these resources, we would like you to construct a sales forecast with a predictive model for the next two years of operations, including monthly projections. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Analyzing our current organizational assets for metrics that will affect our sales. Analyzing historical sales trends and comparing our previous forecasts to actual results. Constructing a model to predict sales including projectable market shifting events. Creating a report including research, analysis and the sales forecast. Developing multiple predictions using conservative and aggressive approaches.

Digital Marketing Strategic plan
The ICRC/CCBI is seeking to develop a strategic marketing and communications plan that reflects our recent shift from public-facing outreach to a network-centered model . This transition comes in response to online targeting and harrassment, which have made traditional public marketing unsafe for our team and our community. We are currently without a clear digital marketing strategy and need to find ways to reach new clients and strengthen internal engagement , without compromising the safety of our members, staff, or community. The goal of this project is to explore how we can communicate effectively not only within the 2SLGBTQ+ ecosystem but also with a potentially larger interested public who identifies as allies to the 2SLGBTQ+ communities through trauma-informed, and privacy-conscious strategies. Interns will work to: Understand the sensitivities and risks involved in marketing to marginalized communities; Identify internal and external audience segments; Assess appropriate and safe communication channels; Propose a clear, phased marketing plan that supports growth, safety, and sustainability. This project gives learners the opportunity to apply marketing and communications knowledge in a nonprofit, social economy context , while deepening their skills in ethical engagement, risk management, and equity-centered storytelling .
