Bio

As the Managing Director of Rhiza Capital, I am responsible for the overall management of four social impact investment funds with a focus on British Columbia based businesses. Prior to relocating to the Sunshine Coast in February 2020, I accumulated over a decade of experience working at independent investment dealers, bank owned dealers, emerging companies, and startups in Toronto, Ontario. My work was centered around investment banking and corporate development where I supported and led the execution of M&A mandates, equity financings, strategic overviews, and valuation assessments for private and publicly listed companies. I have also been responsible for developing and executing the business plan at angel and venture backed start-up and emerging based companies. Most recently, I served on the Board of Directors of Community Futures and as a Member of their loans and investment committee for two years having recently stepped down to carry out the responsibilities at Rhiza.

Rhiza Capital Inc. - Portfolio Management & Reporting

Rhiza Capital manages several social impact venture funds that invest in early-stage companies across British Columbia. As these funds approach year-end, Rhiza is preparing its 2025 portfolio reporting, which includes gathering updated financial, operational, and impact information from portfolio companies. The objective of this project is to support the data-collection and reporting process required to complete 2025 year-end investor and audit reporting. The student will help coordinate and organize information provided by investee companies, such as revenues, financing activity, and operational developments, to ensure Rhiza’s reports accurately reflect each company’s progress and the overall fund performance. The broader goal is to strengthen Rhiza’s reporting systems and improve the consistency and timeliness of data received from portfolio companies, contributing directly to transparency and accountability to investors and stakeholders.
