Fund Development: Phase 2 of 3
PROJECT SCOPE Challenge/Opportunity: - Arts on the Ave operates a volunteer powered coffeehouse, the Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse. All the revenue from the coffeehouse goes to our many projects. Some of our projects include festivals such as Deep Freeze and Kaleido Family Arts Festival. - Before COVID-19 we were able to host various events at our coffeehouse like a wine and cheese night, band performances, artisans market. - With government costs and COVID-19, it has presented various challenges for Arts on the Ave activities and events in the community. -The pandemic has truly challenge the organization in many ways and it has given us an opportunity to reinvent our selves as a non profit organization. We have grown our passion to help others and uplift one another through the arts. Getting more support and funding from the Government will help the organization continue what we started while staying true to our mission and vision. -The coffeehouse acts as a space where our staff can work and our executive director can meet important people as well as conducting our coffee business as usual. Our goal at the end of this experience is: Research and documentation: Finding new grant opportunities and fund raising ideas. Making sure important contacts and relationships are recorded for future references. Grant Writing: Support fund development lead drafting for grants writing. Helps on collecting important components in executing grants application successfully. Finance Report: Review grant reports requirements and prepare financial workbook for support. Admin Support: Grant reporting and follow up. Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society serves as a cornerstone of cultural enrichment within the community through its flagship initiative, The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse. This vibrant space not only serves as a coffeehouse but also as a catalyst for various artistic endeavors, contributing significantly to the organization's overarching mission. At the heart of our operations lie the numerous projects and festivals we support, including the renowned Deep Freeze and Kaleido Family Arts Festival. These FREE festivals, deeply ingrained in the community's fabric, celebrate diversity, creativity, and inclusivity, drawing participants and spectators from all walks of life. They serve as platforms for artists to showcase their talents, fostering a sense of belonging and unity among attendees. The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse has been instrumental in fostering community engagement and support. Through diverse events such as fundraisers, live music performances, curated art galleries, and artisan markets, we have created a dynamic space where individuals can come together to celebrate and appreciate various forms of art. These events not only provide entertainment and cultural enrichment but also serve as opportunities for local artists and artisans to showcase their work, thereby contributing to the local economy and cultural landscape. Like many organizations, Arts on the Ave faces financial challenges that threaten its ability to sustain and expand its operations. Despite these challenges, our passion for helping others and uplifting the community through the arts remains steadfast. We believe that with increased support and funding from the government, we can continue our vital work while staying true to our mission and vision. In essence, Arts on the Ave Edmonton Society and The Carrot Community Arts Coffeehouse represent more than just venues for artistic expression—they are symbols of community resilience, creativity, and unity. With continued support, we can ensure that these spaces remain accessible and inclusive, serving as beacons of inspiration for generations to come.
