Web / App Development (React)
Students have two options: 1. Build on the work completed by Humber College students on the KnowQuest.net React-based webapp to complete the project. KnowQuest is the world's first Academic Feedback platform, and one of the most advanced feedback platforms in general. KnowQuest combines Credibility of users with Anonymity of ratings and Security (no personal information collected or sold) and Homogeneity (ratings are layered, not just 5 stars - thus, they are highly informative, powerful, and easily comparable). 2. MyPanion.com - Ethical Home Healthcare startup. MyPanion is bringing dignity and respect back to the home healthcare industry. By charging the customer a little less, and paying care workers much more, we ensure higher quality, better value, and better matches. Your job will be to create the MyPanion App. The App is a glorified scheduler with a GPS function built it. More details about the functionality of both options are available.
Integrating an accounting game into Web-Application for educational tools - 4
Positions available: 5 We would like to invite a team of students to work on integrating an application into a website that hosts several educational tools. The application is a financial accounting simulation game, where a student plays the role of an accountant. The application is already done, but it needs to be integrated into the main database of the other applications that are already developed. Students will be required to work with a team who is working on the other applications. They are going to be mentored by experts and lots of support is going to be offered to them. This is the second phase of the project. At this stage, students are to work on the professor's side and integrate it into the professor's dashboard and grade book. Professors should be able to add the game to their assignments.
Data engineering translate an image format to a parametrized format
The goal of DesignBot is to provide industrial designers with variations of their product design ideas. In such, we want to use the SVG image format as the base input to our AI and ML algorithms, since this format already standardized and widely used by designers. We would like to collaborate with students to construct an algorithm that can read the SVG file format and serialize it into programmatic structures which could be fed to AI and ML algorithms and allows them to modify an image by modifying parameters. We would like a group of students to analyze the SVG format, and adapt it to apply AI, ML and data modelling techniques. This will involve: Learn what the SVG format is Look and test SVG libraries in C\C++ Develop structures that would serve as input to AI/ML algorithms. Although the SVG library is in C/C++, the adapted format can be sent to AI/ML algorithms that are usually more in Python and other languages.
Website Development
Our company builds an online community. We hope to update and revamp our existing website to attract more users. We are looking for full stack developers, and we would like to work with students to develop this new website that is easy to maintain while providing an appealing interface for users. This can be achieved through React JS, Tailwind CSS, Express JS, Firebase. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Building a website, with our assistance in providing the content. Providing training on updating and maintaining the website. Bonus steps in the process would also include: Testing prototypes with customers or internally (QA testing) and refining ideas with feedback and/or fixing the code.
