In this project, the student will assist the project engineer in designing a wearable LED or similar module for promotion and education applications. Details of the design requirement will be provided to the student once matched. Relevant skills in electronics and solid modelling are important for the successful completion of this project. Remote Survillance Robot (Programming)
In this project, the student will assist the project engineer in programming the high-level software and microcontroller of a remote surveillance robot prototype. Details of the design requirement will be provided to the student once matched. Relevant skills in electronics and solid modelling are important for the successful completion of this project. Aircraft Fuselage Stringer
January 2022 - May 2022
Studied the Fuselage on a generic aircraft and the body/chassis dynamics.
Studied and designed the geometry of a stringer element, to be repeated around the chassis.
Conducted finite element method (FEM) testing using the ANSYS software.
Tested mechanical properties like stress, photoelasticity, and collected strain gauge readings. Wrote reports to ensure/prove the validity of the material selected and geometry designed.
CNC milling machine design
September 2021 - January 2022
Wrote a detailed engineering specifications list and prepared 3 candidates.
Evaluated mechanisms, i.e. linear actuator motor, harmonic drive, spindle motor, etc.
Chose the top candidate and designed the whole milling machine on SolidWorks CAD.
Submitted a detailed design report with mechanism selections and justifications.
The project was at a stage ready for execution.
