1.Social Media Strategy and Presentation
Our students will develop the social media strategy for your organization using in-class information and external sources/research.
Social media goals:
What are/should be the goals of the organization on social?
Brand Identity:
Can you describe the organization’s brand identity on social media? This includes the voice, tone, mission, vision, and look and feel.
Audience:
Who are the different audiences the organization should engage with on social media? These can include employees, customers, partners, etc.
Channels:
Based on your research, determine the best social channels the organization should use to engage with the audience. Since the organization will likely have modest resources, you should only pick 2-3 channels.
Content:
What type of content should the organization create and curate? Should it be infographics, videos, stories, GIFs, etc.?
What are the key topics (what should the content be about)? Create 2 mock-ups of social media posts (for two different channels).
Monitoring:
What keywords should the organization monitor on social?
Influencers:
What influencers should the organization work with to help it achieve its goals? (research and show at least 3 influencer examples).
What tactics can it use with these influencers? Provide at least one example.
KPIs:
How will you assess the success of your social media strategy over time? What are the tools that you will use to measure success?
2.Social Media Ad Campaign (10%)
In addition to organic tactics that take time to show results, we would like to leverage social ads towards various goals. For this part of the assignment, our students will create two ads and choose any two from the social media platforms, such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, and Instagram Ad editors. We will share the screenshots of our mockups.
First, the organization would like to increase its Facebook page likes.

Bring on students from the University Canada West to evaluate your current digital marketing strategies and plan, and provide their actionable recommendations on how to improve your outcomes.
Students will apply their knowledge in digital marketing to help your organization evaluate a digital marketing plan, or solve a current digital marketing challenge. Please, note that this is a top-line digital strategy with recommendations and examples, but students will not implement their recommendations. For example, teams will not build websites, create ads, social media calendars, keyword lists, etc.
Students will meet with the client occasionally throughout the term based on specific needs and conduct research by doing a thorough SWOT analysis to understand the current situation of the company. They will assess the business' current digital marketing aspects and ultimately propose a plan to help the company make meaningful improvements to their current practices.
Students will submit a detailed report (Digital Marketing Plan) including their research, analysis, insights, and recommendations.
Students will also submit a pdf slide deck summarizing their key findings and recommendations to share with your employees.
There will be a final 10-15 minute presentation of key findings and recommendations.
