A team of 4 upper-year students-consultants will work with your organization, to assess or solve a 'real life' marketing issue or problem.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Phase 1 – Project Plan: Students will meet with organization representative(s) to devise the project scope and prepare a detailed plan for completion of the project.

Phase 2 – Project Execution: Students will work on deliverables outlined in the project plan. Teams will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

Phase 3 - Outcome - Report and Presentation: Students will submit comprehensive written report including quantitative and qualitative materials, an executive summary, analysis, recommendations, and an implementation plan. Teams will also conduct a a 30-minute presentation in the last class summarizing the report and recommendations along with a Q&A . Organization representative(s) are invited to attend presentations.

Requirements

Starting this January, undergraduate student-consultants in groups of 4 will apply four years worth of Marketing studies, to help your organization capture an opportunity, develop a strategic marketing plan, or solve a current marketing challenge.

The students will use marketing research, strategy, digital promotional tools and marketing mix best practices to create a report and presentation after 3 months of study and effort.

Topics covered in the final deliverables can include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of your current marketing initiatives and strategy, including the 4Ps (Marketing Mix): Product, Price, Place, and Promotion.
  • Recommendations on what methods you can use to leverage and improve your marketing strategy, based on your organization's budget and current marketing strategy. Recommendations can include social media platforms, digital promotional tools and more.
  • Implementation plan for any new or updated strategy and recommendations
  • Conclusions and key takeaways
