Details

We are building software to help run our business better. This software has simplicity and efficiency as core goals, and requires Interfaces and Experiences that support those functional goals. Teams or individuals working on this will need to:

  • Review the evolving story mapping for our software to assess and develop interfaces and experiences for the basic and oft-used features, as well as the more specific functional interfaces/experiences
  • Review any (very) preliminary mockups we may have to see if they may be a starting point for this.

  • We strongly recommend students learn how to use Figma or similar that can be easily adapted to an implementation.
  • Creation of a screen by screen UX / UI prototype of a web application which can be used on all major browsers and be mobile friendly
  • Conducting UX / UI testing with real potential users - if possible - potentially involving paper prototypes or other software tools to support this
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should complete the following list of activities:

  • Familiarize themselves with our emerging product
  • Design and build inside of the design tool all the needed screens for a prototype of our product
  • Present the final design screens and files to us with the context of all their choices they made, problems they encountered, and next steps they recommend.

Bonus steps would include:

  • Conducting any sort of user testing on the prototypes to ensure ease of use and to collect user feedback.

Final deliverables should include

  • The design screens and all assets in a shareable format
  • A presentation as stated above of the final designs
Mentorship

Students will connect directly with us for mentorship throughout the project. We will be able to provide answers to questions such as:

  • Current product understanding
  • Industry standard design tools and applications
  • Any sort of branding or styling advice
  • Input on choices, problems or anything else the students might encounter

The students may also interact with our programming teams (also Riipen students!) to boost collaboration and insights that will flow both ways.
