LocalGoodz.com is an online marketplace for locally-made products. Starting with focus on Ontario-made products - see https://www.localgoodz.com
This project has 3 possible aspects:
1 Vendor Invitations / Sales - contacting Ontario manufacturers (big, small or home businesses) to invite them to become vendors for free on LocalGoodz.com and post their locally-made products. We have a large list of contacts and need help to send emails, make phone calls and connect on social media with them. Vendors register at https://www.localgoodz.com/start-selling or fill the Quick Setup form and we create the accounts for them. For example, https://www.localgoodz.com/vendors/lipservice-beauty and https://www.localgoodz.com/vendors/zsolt-souce
2. Consumer Marketing - social media marketing to people who care about buying local and supporting the local economy. For example, we have 850 followers on Instagram so far at https://www.instagram.com/localgoodz. This can include research for Facebook and other groups of like-minded people, creating content and posting on them using the LocalGoodz social media accounts.
3. Public Relations (PR) - writing articles about LocalGoodz, researching potential media contacts and sending press releases. Possibly speaking with the media about the site.
The site has been around for a few years as a side project and slowly added vendors and customers. We need some help to grow it over time.
Available to meet on Zoom, teach how to get results, what works, etc.
About the company
LocalGoodz.com is an online marketplace for buying and selling locally-made products. We offer consumers a place to find items that are made in their area by local producers. There is a growing demand to “Buy Local” worldwide.
Our vision is to become a global-local market where people can “Buy Local” wherever they are. We are developing the business model in Ontario with the goal of taking it to other forward-thinking regions around the world.
LocalGoodz is a member of the iBoost Zone, an early stage technology incubator housed under Ryerson’s Faculty of Engineering & Architectural Science.
