Welcome to SunnyCider We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for talented MRU Business students to contribute to our innovative project, Create a business plan.
Main Goal:
The primary objective of this project is to help SunnyCider reach new markets and establish a foothold in current markets. We want students to not only understand the significance of their contributions but also feel confident that the project is manageable within a realistic timeframe from September 20, 2024 - December 10, 2024.
Project Scope and Expectations:
During this project, students will interview the key players in SunnyCider, look at the cider market in Alberta, and create a detailed business plan for how to increase sales, reach new customers and make a social impact.
Company Overview:
At SunnyCider, we pride ourselves on creating award winning ciders using Alberta and BC fruit. We try to be as low impact as possible This project offers students an opportunity to gain insights into our company culture, values, and the impactful work we do.
Project Details:
- Interview parties involved with SunnyCider including some key customers in the different markets we serve
- Come up with a budget for marketing and implementing your business plan
- Ultimately come up with a business plan that will include: Increasing tap room volume, increasing liquor store sales across Alberta, Increasing restaurant and bar sales in Calgary.
Final Deliverables:
- A comprehensive 10-15 page business plan as per the team of consultants' course curriculum.
Our company is committed to providing a weekly in-person meetings to mentor the team. This mentorship will be tailored to address specific project challenges and foster a supportive learning environment. The mentorship sessions aim to complement the technical guidance and ensure that students not only complete the project successfully but also gain valuable insights into real-world applications of their skills.

About the company
We are a small craft cider maker in Calgary AB. We sell our products all across Alberta. We have a tap room with an Asian restaurant, we sell to liquor stores, breweries and restaurants/bars.
