Learner goals and capabilities

Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from Waynesburg University to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

: ·        Differentiate and understand the functional areas of sport management

·        Identify and describe the managerial functions within sport management

·        Analyze the historical, sociological, cultural and psychological implications of sport and sport administration

·        Evaluate the ethical issues within the sport industry

·        Critically examine the economic impact of sports on regional and local economies

·        Survey current trends, issues and research in sport management

Understand the current employment environment and the career options available in sport management 


What can our learners do for your company?


Learners in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your marketing needs and create and execute a social media marketing campaign.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

What would your company get at the end of the Experience?


Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations
  3. Marketing plan - 5-7 pages, including...
  4. Social media campaign - blog posts, instagram posts, tiktok videos, etc.
Project Examples

Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 

  • By the end of this course, you will demonstrate knowledge in professional, amateur, collegiate, and Olympic sports as well as sport administration, sporting goods and services and sports entertainment and recreation. 



Learners have completed projects such as reports, research and social media strategy.
