In this project, students will connect with a participating local public health unit and conduct an informational survey to collect data on the different types of health-care workers that work in the unit. They will also identify challenges and develop recommendations for improvement.

- A detailed background, with a literature review, on issues identified in their project
- An outline of the project, including information on what students did and how

Project Examples
This project may include, but is not limited to:
- Creating an online survey to collect quantitative data on the demographics, training, and roles and responsibilities of the different health-care workers in the local public health unit
- Creating a matrix or searchable online tool of the types of health-care workers that work in public health units, including training requirements, where training is offered, alternative or additional certification, and continuing education
- Conducting interviews and focus groups with health-care workers in the public health unit to determine the biggest challenges they regularly face
- Developing recommendations to address identified challenges
- Collaborating with the public health unit and community groups to develop strategies to enhance communication and services
